     CHRISTMAS 


     Christmas is a religious festival. This festival is celebrated by Christians in many of the countries of the world including Sri Lanka. Christmas falls on 25th of December every year. Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on the day. They gather round churches and take part in Masses. The Christmas day is "A red letter day" (the most important day) in their lives. There are various religious activities in churches to mark this holy day and every thing is done with the direction of priests of respective churches.



      Christians make christmas cakes and numerous kinds of puddings for thi special festival. Wine is one of the favorite drinks that they like to have on this special day. A christmas tree is decorated and illuminated in every house. Children are very much interested in decorating christmas trees. Children as well as the youth involve in singing christmas carols in churches. They are trained in churches by a choirmaster.


       Christians engage in many religious activities on this sacred day. Helping poor people, giving them gift items and organizing alms giving are some of such activities. Special food items that they prepare are shared among neighbors. They live every peacefully giving prominence to humanity.

      DRUG MENACE  Drug menace is a serious problem among youth of the world. Addiction to drugs is known as drug menace. This leads to many social problems. Dangerous drugs like hemps, heroine, cocaine  distort healthy mental process of people and by that they disturb natural thinking process of them. According to the scientific researches it has been proven that these harmful drugs adversely affect on one's brain and harm it seriously. As a result of this, the mental process of drug addicts is disturbed mainly and they become unconscious. That is the reason for their misconduct.             Drug users commit very harmful, dangerous severe anti-social crimes like mnurders, rapes and the like. How does this become a menace?          My besta  My besta is special man for my life. He is very kind,garrulous, friendly and handsome boy. His name is Nethpriya Yashodhana.  He is 21 years old and he lives in Piliyandala.
